Robinson Custom Saddlery and Repair,
established 1979, your source for quality custom saddles,
tack, and
expert repair work. Experienced quality craftsmanship.
Jerry Robinson has been a
cowboy and buckaroo all his life. His family ran a garage and gas
station in Eureka, Nevada, but he always preferred the outdoors, working
with cattle and horses. When he was old enough he took off to
buckaroo in upper Washington State along the Canadian Border, as far up
in the United States as he could without leaving it.
While in Washington, Jerry
learned the saddle making trade from Bill Long in Spokane and set up a
full-time saddle making shop in 1979 in the town of Nampa, Idaho.
Jerry returned to Nevada in 1986, was head saddlemaker for J. M.
Capriola Company in Elko for two years, and then set up his own custom
saddle and repair shop.
Jerry says, "The most important part of
saddlemaking to me is the fit of a saddle on a horse. The rider
can make changes to make himself more comfortable, but the horse is
'saddled' with what we put on him. I have my own tree-bar patterns and
have a company that produces trees to my own design and specifications."
Jerry also prides himself on excellent
repair and restoration work, bringing the repaired item as close back to
its original state as possible.
