INFORMATION
OLD WEST BRONC RIDING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Saddle Bronc Riding with standard stock saddle or slick fork saddle.

Maximum entries: 40

$275 entry fee, $50 will be deducted for stock charges, the remainder plus added money, will be paid.

First go around- Thursday evening, July 13 - Thirty (30) bronc riders; Friday evening, July 14 - Ten (10) bronc riders during PRCA performance. Four places will be paid after the Friday night performance. Only the top 12 riders will ride Saturday evening, July 15. This is a sudden death ride-off of the top 12 bronc riders. There is no average paid, the winner of the top twelve will be the champion.

The Silver State Stampede Association will award the world championship buckle to the winner of the sudden death ride-off on Saturday. In case of a tie, the buckle will be awarded to the winner by a coin toss. The Association has obtained sponsors for added money in the amount of $5,000. Based on 40 entries, a total of $14,000.00 will be paid, with $2275.00 going to the top 4 of the elimination ride and $11,725.00 to the top 4 of the sudden death ride-off, with $6,000.00 being paid to the high point man.

Stock will be drawn, not chute run.

The total entries are limited to the first 40 applications received that are accompanied by a deposit of $50.00. Any entries received after the first 40 will be retained until June 15, 2006, pending possible vacancies. If none, the $50.00 deposit will be refunded.

RULES

  • Must ride with standard stock saddle or slick-fork saddle with bucking rolls allowed.

  • Riders can hold the horn, cantle , rope strap or night latch as they choose.

  • No spur out required and loss of stirrup is allowed.

  • No hobbling of stirrups or binds on stirrup leathers

  • No chapping of horse out of the gate.

  • At the contractor's choice, all horses will be throat latched.

  • Bucking rolls, sack or saddle blanket rolled up and tied across the fork allowed.

  • Same hand on rein at all times. Rider to hold rein until pickup or dismount.

  • Fanning allowed with hat or slicker, but no quirts.

  • 2 qualified rough-stock judges will judge each horse from 1 to 25 and each rider from 1 to 25. A high style, showy ride will point high on the riders score.

Riders are encouraged to get sponsors for the entry fee. If an entry desires, the Association will obtain a sponsor for a rider if the rider will pay 40% of entry fee or $110.00. The sponsor will pay the balance and any winnings will be paid 40% to the rider and 60% to the sponsor. If you desire a sponsor, you should state that on the entry blank.

All riders who wish will be entered in a calcutta during a kick-off party which will be held on Thursday, July 7 beginning at 6:00 p.m. All those who are entered in the calcutta are requested to be present. Each man entered will receive a meal ticket for that evening at no charge.

All participants must sign a release .
The release is with the entry blank.
